They're back

Smashing Pumpkins - Tarantula

New album will be out 7/10/07. New single up top.
Rocks!! It's kinda good at first, then it grows and grows on you. I've been listening to it non stop. It sounds like a mix of Machina and Gish. Total rock out tune.

They're playing 9 shows at Asheville, NC. Tickets went on sale on Sunday but damn Ticketweb wasn't prepared for the onslaught Pumpkinheads unleashed. The site crashed, now it looks like they're selling what's left over at ticketmaster. I got to the checkout part then the site died. Damn you ticketweb!!! I need to get tickets.

I was one of those frustrated people trying to get tickets but this is pretty funny.

Citizen Times

It's on at 6 tonight!

----- scratch that tonight deal. It went on sale last night Monday. Which explains why Eric called me around that time. Crap. Oh well, bring on the world tour.

Bidness Trip - back home

My plan to update this every night during my trip didn't work out so well. My work buddy forgot his laptop charger so he had to barrow mine. We were at Boston to set up a Pharmaceutical construction site for on site screening. Meaning all new construction workers had to take drug tests and have his/her pic taken for a badge. My buddy took care of the pee collecting training and I was there to hook up the badging system that I researched and tested for the longest time. Then showed the EMT's and collectors the techy side of the job. Now it looks like our client wants security badging as well. So I should be back on the site after some training on the security system-niner.

I have to admit it felt more like a vacation to me. I mean all I had to do was hook up the system and various troubleshooting which is second nature to me. Then I had the liberty to abuse the company credit card that Carl (work buddy) held. We ate like champs the whole week especially at this place called Abe & Louise, a fancy steak restaurant. I had myself a fillet mignon which was del-f'n-icious. Definitely the best steak I've ever had. At the end of dinner we had racked up a $200 bill between the 2 of us. Thanks P-brooke!

Boston kicked ass. It was pretty much a college town with Boston University right there. Lots of hotties walking around town, lots. Like I said before, I wish I brought my camera. I think I can get used to living there. Well, maybe not. City traffic sucked balls and I'm pretty anal when it comes to my car. Great place to go bar hopping with some buddies. I'd go back in a heart beat. Correct that, I'd fly back in a heart beat. The 12 hour drive was somewhat agonizing.

bidness trip - cheesesteak

So I'm chowing down a $13 Turkey Panini Melt here at the Boston Hilton while writing this entry up on my $10 per day access. Oh man, can you feel the power? Everything is on the company! Talk about being spoiled.

We did have a brutal road trip on the way here but we also rewarded ourselves halfway through. We purposely went out of our way to Philly to have lunch at cheesesteak meca Pat's. This place is not what you call a "typical" restaurant. It's just a run down joint that you order through a glass window ala Brewsters. You then munch down the 9" cheesesteak on a picnic table outside. So what's on a real philly cheesesteak? Steak, onions, and Whiz as in Cheese Whiz. That's it. No lettuce, no mayo, no nothing, no nada. Even with just those ingredients, the damn thing was del-f'n-icious. There's nothing quite like it.

...except... Ginos! Which is just right across the street, literaly. I was asking my coworker which place was better since he lived in Philly before. He couldn't tell me so he offered a solution. A second round of cheesesteaks, this time at Ginos. We're talking about 2 - 9 inchers for lunch here people! Ridiculous but we had to, or I had to.

The place is exactly like Pat's but more colorful or mainstream. You have your colorful mainstream joint in Ginos, then you have the run down local joint. I personally enjoyed Pat's better. Not that Gino's was horrible, I thought Pat's had more flavor. Mmmm... good. I just wish I had my camera with me because it's so far the highlight of the trip. I highly recommend Pat's or both if you can afford the heart attack.

That's all for now. 3 more days to go.
